Description Script Creation

The most crucial part of the process. Our scripting standards set the tone for the rest of the pipeline. The Audio Description Project and American Council for the Blind lay out a simple guideline which we have refined.

Script Quality Control

A quality control pass with a senior writer and/or a blind QC pass.

Audio Mix

We mix the voiceover track into the supplied program audio. This is like conducting an orchestra. The voiceover should play at the level of the dialogue or slightly louder. Music and SFX should still be felt in the mix, just not over powering the voiceover.

Audio Mix Quality Control

We conform, run a final QUALITY pass, and digitally deliver your mix stems in your preferred secured manner.

Voiceover

A voiceover artist, that sounds stellar with your content, is selected for the recording. It’s best to record a narrator that has a contrasting voice with your cast. So the listener doesn’t confuse a cast member with the description narrator. 

Audio Edits

A description trained audio editor cleans up and arranges the voiceover in the program mix, between the dialogue. If you place the voiceover improperly, you can lose the essence of a scene and ruin a program.

AI Voiceover

We always suggest a human voiceover for creative content. However, today’s AI voiceover technology, with a delicate mix, can fit well into any medium.

Company Description Training

We train nearly all of our writers, amassing extensive training hours.

Your company may have an employee or employees who are capable of writing descriptions; however, they must acquire appropriate AD techniques. We offer both individual and group instruction during our training.

Description writing is unique and rewiring one’s writing habits takes time. A few fundamental guidelines must be followed in order to maintain the viewer’s interest. We use clear language paired with striking descriptive imagery to get in and out of the program.
